USGBC Honors studio26 Homes Residence With Pennsylvania's First LEED-Silver Certification

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) granted studio26 homes’ Demonstration Home LEED-Silver Certification for its healthy, high-performance, green design and construction. The USGBC is the leading national certifying organization focused on promoting green living throughout the country. Homes are certified through a comprehensive checklist known as the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Rating System.

March 20, 2008  (Washington, DC) – Today, an Orefield, Pennsylvania home was awarded LEED Silver  Certification by the U.S. Green  Building Council (USGBC) for achievement in green homebuilding.  LEED  for Homes is a national  thirdparty certification system for energy efficient, healthy, green homes.  LEED certified homes complete a technically rigorous process that includes a home ener gy (HERS) rating and  onsite inspections to verify that the home is built to be energy and water efficient, environmentally  sound, and a healthier place to live.
